Feeling, Sensing, and the Body
Share
If you're confused, sensation will be an easier starting point.
From the moment you take the first sip—
how long before you notice this?
Where are you feeling the warmth?
How is it spreading, traveling, evolving?
How’s your stomach? Any pain anywhere?
What do you feel along your back and shoulders, your neck and head?
What’s going on with your torso? Your limbs?
And your brain and mind is part of the body, by the way.
When you put something into your body,
you’re going to feel a range of responses.
Some are neurochemical.
Some are neural reactions to sensory activation.
All of them matter.
This all leads us to something important:
the difference between sensation and impression.
Sensation is what the tea expresses directly through the body.
Impression is the summary your mind forms from that sensation.
Sensations are felt.
Impressions are formed.
